EVENT - Research Week

DATE: 27th – 31st August

During the Research Week, two symposiums were held. The first was a Research Impact Symposium during which the impact of USP’s research over the years were discussed. Several current projects were also presented to showcase USP’s research impact. Following this, USP held a Research Skills Development (RSD) Symposium. Created by the University of Adelaide in 2006, the conceptual RSD framework provides a means to develop and assess students research and problem-solving skills in content-rich courses from First Year undergraduate to PhD level in diverse fields of specialisation. USP adopted the RSD in its curricula in 2012. During the RSD Symposium, the status of the implementation of the RSD at USP, via several key presentations, were discussed. The Prime Minister of Samoa and Chair of the Pacific Islands Forum (PIF), Honourable Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Neioti Aiono Dr Sa’ilele Malielegaoi officially opened the Research Week on 27 August.
